$50 a month, any dose
A temporary Medicare program for weight management. It started July 1, 2026 and runs through December 31, 2027.
Which medicines are covered
- Wegovy, pill and shot, all doses
- Zepbound KwikPen (pen needles bought separately)
- Foundayo, all doses
Not covered: Zepbound vials and single-dose pens, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Rybelsus, Saxenda and compounded GLP-1s.
Who qualifies
- You're 18 or older.
- You have Medicare drug coverage: a Part D plan or a Medicare Advantage plan with drug coverage. Original Medicare alone isn't enough.
- The prescription is for weight management.
- You meet one of the BMI rules below. Your BMI is measured from when you first started a GLP-1, not today.

One exclusion to check
If your Part D plan already paid for a GLP-1 for you in 2026, you can't use the Bridge this year. Paying fully out of pocket doesn't count.
How to get it
There's no form to fill in yourself. Your prescriber sends the prescription, your pharmacy submits it to the Bridge, and your prescriber confirms you meet the rules. A decision usually comes within about 72 hours. Once approved, you pay $50 at pickup, including refills and dose changes of the same medicine.
Good to know
- The $50 doesn't count toward your Part D deductible or out-of-pocket cap.
- Coupons and TrumpRx offers can't be combined with it.
- Switching to a different covered medicine needs a new approval.
- Medicare.gov has an eligibility tool. Check there before you start.
